Knowledge is power. How powerful are you?
When I found out I was going to have twins I threw myself into a massive research mode to learn everything I could about carrying and having twins. Talk about crazy – that’s TWO newborns…at the same time…wow!!! To frame this news a bit let me backup – I was growing and operating our family’s agency (est 1926 – no pressure there!), I was on the board of our state association, leading at least one committee there, serving my third term on the local Chamber of Commerce executive committee and board in addition to serving on the start team of a new church…….a little busy, yep – now I’m going to be the mother of twins…YIKES, talk about out of control. (Which is never where a control freak wants to find herself 🙂 Throwing myself into the knowledge gathering mode became hugely empowering to me. I soon knew “everything there is to know” about being the mother of twins and very soon the panic attacks began to subside. Providentially I safely delivered two healthy, beautiful babies. So far (I say that because they’re 13 now) every step of the way has been a dream. They are absolutely awesome kids and thanks to the “village” that we’ve been blessed to raise them in, that foundation was and continues to be immersing myself in acquring knowledge, which became an incredible power in dealing with whatever life threw our way…coupled with a ton of prayer too!
Whether its becoming a mother of twins or tripling the size of my agency in a short period of time – knowledge is power. How powerful are you? |
