53% of surveyed workers say they express anger at work. Only 19% express joy – why?
| Hum, that’s an interesting set of stats. The “anger” piece probably doesn’t surprise anyone. I bet in the last 3 seconds you even visualized the last person you were angry with in the office, but what about the “joy” stat – is it even possible to have “joy” at work? Sure it is, and it doesn’t mean that 19% of the responders got raises in the last 30 days before the survey was taken.
Believe it or not, our industry tells us that money is about 6th down the list of what makes an employee “happy” at work. So what’s the magic bullet – I’m not going to tell you. Better yet, I can’t tell you, you need to ask your staff and figure out what the magic bullet is for EVERY person on your team – I expect you’ll be surprised.
