Data Conversion Best Practices – Intro

Data Conversion doesn’t have to be a four – letter word or a scary topic at all if properly planned.

If you’ve been following my posts at all, you know I’m doing this almost exclusively lately as more and more agencies jump on the Epic wagon with Applied Systems.  The one thing that I would encourage everyone considering this move is to take your time – let me say that again……TAKE YOUR TIME!  Did I convey well enough with that the very best “best practice” you can employ is making sure you give yourself enough time to do it the right way the first and only time you do this?  (A common theme in my consultancy practice if you know anything at all about SynerDynamics Group.)

I’m talking right now to a multiple office organization who very realistically is setting a 9-month window, though I’ve also crammed this process in quite regularly in a 3-4 month window – which is better…….the answer is multi-faceted for a variety of reasons, but given the opportunity to choose, I’d definitely take the longer option to keep from running around with your hair on fire all the time to keep all the balls in the air.
