How about a fresh perspective for 2013?
So here we are, barely into 2013, and the resolutions I made are starting to pay off! I love getting up before sunrise for 90 minutes of yoga and meditation – almost as much as I love being a vegan! Not only does fresh seaweed energize me, but it makes it easy to stay on top of all my work and still (finally) learn Russian!
Right now, if you’re not thinking “Can’t she come up with a better joke than that” it’s because your sense of humor is clogged with the Pinot Grigio, Ted’s queso or caffeineyou resolved, but failed to quit this year.
Many well intentioned people make optimistic resolutions in January, only to see them melt like icicles by springtime. I’m certain that’s why T.S. Elliott once wrote “April is the cruelest month” after realizing he couldn’t fit into his Easter suit he’d bought as motivation at an after-Christmas sale.
Research shows a staggering 63% of all New Year’s resolutions this year were broken inside the first 7 days of 2013. Why do we do that to ourselves? When you unpack this phenomenon I think there are a variety of ways you can look at it. Stay tuned and we’ll talk more about it in our next installment.
