Converting to TAM or Epic doesn’t have to be painful ! (Tip #6)

You can save yourself a bunch of headaches by cleaning up your data long before you even begin your conversion process.

Tip #6 – If the data isn’t stored, or translates into the current ACORD standard form, guessing your stuff’s not going to convert in TAM or Epic very well, if at all.

I know this stinks, but it’s not the end of the world …all the time.  Some systems have old ACORD forms, but if the data fields are there we might be ok.  Some systems that don’t use ACORD standards make it a little harder, but there are still some creative options to grab the data.  Sometimes we’re just stuck and have to figure how important the stuff is we need and now best to get it.  This one is a bit of a head scratcher, but we’ll hash through it with you and do our best to come up with the least painful option that fits your situation.

ACORD-based data isn’t the only thing we sometimes have to get creative with; you have likely customized your system with little tidbits of very valuable data that you’d like to take with you.  We need to consider cross-references, sometimes called “relationships”.

Some systems have fields that might look free-form, but if used properly, have reportable content that can be captured and pushed into your shiny new system where you can still use it.

The bottom line is, you don’t have to walk this road alone.  We’re working with lots of folks to help them map out this very important and highly productivity-oriented transition function.  Because we do this all day, almost every day and have seen all kinds of systems, we can help.  We’ve got lots of happy folks who’ll tell you we saved them a ton of time, money and headaches; much less had fun doing it – call us.
