“Do you have a card?” has been replaced by “What’s your website url?” Make sure you’re ready for that question.

I’ve recently been a part of an interesting LinkedIn group discussion on the value or the business card – frankly the responses are all over the board.  The important thing is that you can respond in whatever electronic or archaic format of transferring contact information that your client or contact is expecting.  I have two forms of “business cards” – the first is what you expect, my critical business contact information, good color, paper stock, glossy finish and my Synergy statement on the back.  The second is a little more edgy, a multi-fold (still card-sized).  The front fold is die-cut with my signature “S” and the inside is literally a mini-brochure that has my 4 key competencies and areas of focus adn on the back is to my traditional business contact info.  I can beam my contact info to your PDA, send you a quick VCard or whatever level of contact data transfer that particular person is looking for.  The important thing is to be flexible and progressive when you need to be.
