Holding on to things you were good at in the past will destroy you.
I once heard a speaker say “If you’re not constantly moving forward on whatever road you’re on, you’re going to get run over”. Committing yourself to being a lifelong learner exponentially effects the value of of what you take the time to learn, perfect and utilize in your career, family, or just life. Those who “couch” themselves, per their resume and aren’t continually in the process of adding to it will get run over in whatever it is that they do..or in some cases what they don’t do. Even at the ripe old age of 96, my very successful grandfather was a veracious reader, always sharing little nuggets of knowledge he was contining to acquire. At 96 one would have thought he’d learned enough, but he didn’t see it that way…..at all! Challenge yourself by askng at the end of each day “What have I learned today and what am I going to do with it tomorrow?” and keep doing it, even if you’re 96! |
