New Year’s resolutions – fair or foul?

It’s that time of year where we often revisit the successes and/or failures of the closing year with anticipation of doing something different in the new year.  Lose weight, workout more (or even at all for some of us), make more money, spend more time with our family…….whatever it is, we’re usually looking in the rear-view mirror as we decide what we want the new year to look like.

The statistics are alarming at how quickly people break their New Year’s resolutions in the first 7 days of the new year.  Whether its been a good year or not, the important thing is to set yourself up to succeed in the new year – every day.  Sure you can go to a whole host of seminars to help you set reasonable, measureable, attainable goals, but if you’re not not setting yourself up to realize successes daily you’re not likely going to be successful long-term in your higher level “official” goals.

Set yourself up to succeed – every day.  Keep it simple, make the grade, then raise the bar – for yourself.  Trust me, you’ll be surprised how well you do and you won’t be another failed New Year’s resolution statistic.

Cheers – for a prosperous and realistic 2012!
